The Youngest performer to grace the stage at Carnegie Hall? That's what we were told.
On February 1, 2008, at age 8, Anthony became the youngest performer to sing at Carnegie Hall.
He was invited by former NBA standout, John Sparks. The Whiteweld Foundation sponsored a "Dream Concert Series" with Motown's Four Tops and The Temptations. The concert's proceeds went to benefit John Stark's Foundation.
This foundation was established to assist high school seniors with their pursuit of a college education. Anthony blew the doors off of the packed house with an amazing rendition of "God Bless America" to open the show.
As Anthony walked off the stage, he was greeted by The Four Tops who were waiting in the wings. They were all amazed by
Anthony's voice and gave him high fives and hugs as he walked by. After the Four Tops' set was completed, Anthony and his family were asked to come back stage for a photo op and autograph session with the Four Tops. The "Tops" were very kind and spent a lot of time talking to Anthony and Louis. Now it was time for The Temptations. They were incredible on stage and put on a great show.
Anthony and his family were invited to an after party at the Steinway House. John Starks was there and so were the Temptations. The boys got autographs and many great pictures.
Again, fun was had by all and the experience of standing on the Carnegie Hall stage where some of the greatest people of all time stood from The Beatles and Frank Sinatra to Theodore Roosevelt, was yet another "opportunity of a lifetime" that Anthony has experienced at the ripe old age of 8 years old.
